The Complete Menagerie are a shower of long-term fans of BBC Television series Doctor Who. Throughout the 1980s they lived and breathed the show; throughout the 1990s they subscribed to Doctor Who Magazine. One of them even joined DWAS.
Between them they own hundreds of Target novelizations, a few VHS cassettes and share over 100 years of viewing, reading, hearing, loving and loathing the series. Here you’ll completely find out everything about your hosts (almost).

Sam
Tall secular biped with good hair. Marketing exec, writer, reader, reviewer, film photographer, bass player and follower of BBC Television series Doctor Who 1986 - 2004.
Sam considers the mid-Seventies to be the artistic zenith of the programme. In fact, he's somewhat obsessed with the Seventies generally and lives out a life surrounded by vinyl, camera film and terylene disco shirts.
Won't hear a bad word uttered about McCoy. Greatest Doctor Who achievements include credits on the Arc of Infinity and Time Flight DVDs and building a full-scale fibreglass Dalek (now sold) as featured by Big Finish Productions. Owns an original Cyberman helmet. He has also been published in a short story anthology with Doctor Who legend Terrance Dicks.
Sam's earliest memory of the show is of Colin Baker foraging in a tunnel with Nicola Bryant in Mindwarp. Sam casually watched the rebooted Doctor Who series once; he didn't like it. He no longer owns a colour television set.

Tom
Tom is a tall harried family man who lives in Leeds with his wife, two children and a vague sense of disappointment. He spends his time working with people with mental health issues and learning disabilities, haranguing them to do arts projects.
In the days when he had spare time Tom enjoyed writing and performing; this led to a number of highly mediocre sketch shows and the critically ignored Buerk! The Newsical. Tom's introduction to the show was through Target novelizations. He has read all of them. Have you? However, he hasn't got through The War Games on DVD. Make of that what you will.
Tom still tunes in to the remake from a sense of loyalty to his 10-year-old self. Sometimes it's not too bad and a mixture of nostalgia, fatigue and a weakness for sentimentalism causes him to shed a tear in the gooey bits. Tom likes BBC Radio 4, Indian food, Haruki Murakami and socialism; he dislikes dog owners, young people and Christians who park in his spot.

Greg
Greg is tall and from the North West of England. He is a freelance writer and the book editor for Entertainment-Focus.com. He’s interviewed various Doctor Who bigwigs including Television’s Peter Davison (twice), 6th Dr. Who Colin Baker, David Troughton, Anneke Wills (twice), Denis Lill (three times), Clive Merrison and one of Lalla Ward's ex-husbands.
He co-wrote smash hit musical sensations Buerk! The Newsical and Ceausescu the Musical with Tom and two musicians. They are currently working on SPLINK! Stay tuned.
His earliest memory of Doctor Who is of Television’s Peter Davison wimping about in The Five Doctors. He wouldn't say no to "taking a tumble" with Turlough. Greg watched the awful remake until 2008, but hasn't bothered with it since. Greg's favourite Dr. Whos are Tom Baker and Patrick Troughton. For James Bonds, it's Roger and Tim. His favourite-ever television is 1985's Edge of Darkness, starring Bob Peck. Greg's a bit obsessed with Peck, but does a decent impression of him.
Jameson drives a Vauxhall Astra, subscribes to the Spectator and lives in Kent with his husband and their dog Kayla. He brews his own ale, which he names "Crowden's", after Horns of Nimon-star Graham Crowden.

Charlie
Having adopted Buddy Windrush as an online monicker to preserve anonymity - back in the early 00s when that was the done thing - Charlie still hides behind this when it suits him. We understand it “comes in handy when tweeting inflammatory opinions during working hours”.
He is a legal beagle by day and drummer in Leeds rock band Red Light Revival at all other times. A card-carrying Doctor Who fanatic since ‘85, he has loved the show for most of his life; first memory at age 2 1/2 being Warner getting attacked by the cybermat in ep 1 of Revenge of the Cybermen. Left a lasting impression.
Although not a hill he would chose to die on, he is quite happy to defend the Colin Baker years, but is Troughton / Tom Baker man at heart. Like Sam he is an avowed 70sphile, indulging an obsession with the social history and popular culture of the period, particularly its rock music, cult TV and cinema.
Charlie is married with two children, is bald and likes a bit of a cavort. Achievement-wise, in 2003 he appeared on the Who episode of the Lauren Laverne fronted TV quiz show Fanorama (E4; not currently on YouTube so don’t bother looking), and romped home to victory against uberfan Colin Young.
